One of the classic tableware patterns, Blue Italian has been in continuous production since 1816. Perfectly framed by the 18th Century Chinese border, the central scene of the Italian ruins from a late 17th Century drawing, each piece still requires the most skilled hand engraving to create its remarkable sense of space and style. The Blue Italian Liverpool Jug Large Size 7- 1/2-inches is perfect for everyday use and will be cherished for years to come! Made of high-quality earthenware.
Continuously produced in England since 1816, the Blue Italian pattern from Spode will easily find a home on a casual or more formal table. Utilizing an underglaze printing process created by Josiah Spode and still employed today, varying shades of blue and white make up the lovely design, adding a 3-dimensional depth to each piece.
This multi-purpose 7-1/2-inch Blue Italian salad plate can be used to serve a snack, hors d'oeuvres, dessert, or of course a small salad. Based upon a late 17th Century drawing, the central design depicts classic Italian ruins in a pastoral setting, while an 18th Century Chinese-inspired floral motif decorates the outer edge of the plate. Crafted from Spode's high-quality earthenware, known as Imperialware, all tableware items can safely be placed in the microwave or dishwasher. --Lea Werbel
